Students who are currently in 2nd grade AND who have completed at least one year of RE instruction at St. Thomas prior to the current year AND who have received Baptism will prepare for the Sacraments of Communion and Reconciliation.
(ALL children are REQUIRED by the diocese to have AT LEAST TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION BEFORE MAKING FIRST COMMUNION.)
After the school year begins, the DRE will meet with the parents of these students to inform them of the requirements to complete these sacraments.
First Reconciliation: typically held in December
First Communion: typically held on the first or second weekend in May
There will be a retreat in the fall prior to 1st Reconciliation and in the spring prior to First Communion which is mandatory for students to attend.

Students who are currently in 8th grade AND who have completed at least one year of RE class at St. Thomas prior to the current year AND who have received Baptism, 1st communion, and reconciliation will prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
(ALL children are REQUIRED by the diocese to have AT LEAST TWO CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF RELIGIOUS INSTRUCTION BEFORE CONFIRMATION.)
After the school year begins, the DRE will meet with the parents of these students to inform them of the requirements to complete this sacrament.
There will be a retreat held in the spring prior to Confirmation which is mandatory for students to attend. Additionally confirmands must research a saint, find a sponsor, participate in service projects, and attend class with at least 80% attendance to be eligible for Confirmation after two years of preparation.
Confirmation usually occurs during the Easter season in late April or May.
